Minutes of meetings

Image
Having meetings are important so that your cast and crew are briefed on what they need to do and when.

Shooting schedule

Image
Shooting schedules are important so that you are organized and everyone knows when they are needed to film. Without shooting schedules, people may turn up to film at different times and therefore no filming would be completed.

Permissions

Location release forms are important so you can get permission to film in certain places without getting into trouble. If you do not get permission to film somewhere but do it anyway you could be sued or arrested etc.

Budgets

Image
Budgets are important as it tells the filmmaker how much money he needs to make the film. Without a budget the filmmaker wouldn't have an idea how much he needs and therefore might not get the amount of money he needs.

Risk Assessments

Image
Risk assessments are vital so that the you can identify any risks that the cast or crew might face in a specific location while filming. Without risk assessments the actors could get injured therefore a risk assessment is always needed.

Location Scouting

Scanned from a xerox multifunction printer 2 from CLAYTONMILLIGAN1901 Location scouting sheets are important because it allows you to know when you can use a certain location to film and how long you can use it for. This makes it important as it allows the filmmaker to be prepared and helps him create a shooting schedule.

Personnel

Image
The personnel is important in case a member of the cast or crew needs to contact another member they will have a way to contact as the details are on the personnel

Resources

A resource list is important as it allows the filmmaker to get an approximate budget that they need to buy/rent the equipment. It also tells the filmmaker whether they already have the item or whether they need to buy the item so that he knows before the day of filming whether he needs to go out and buy anything.

Storyboards

Image
The storyboard is a very important part of the pre-production process because it clearly conveys how the story will flow and the type of shots you will use as well as how they would flow. It also says what will be happening in each shot so the filmmaker knows what to do.

Script

A script is important as it lets the actors know what to say and do in the film, it also says sets the scene for each act. A script is vital to pre-production as it immediately gives the actors acknowledgment of what they're going to say and when they need to say it.

Proposal

The proposal is effective because it gives you a better understanding of what is going to be in the film, a synopsis of the characters and what each act is going to be about. A film proposal is vital as it is for you to attract key cast and crew for your film.

Initial Ideas

Image
The purpose of initial ideas is to help us decide which genre of film we are going to make as well as the plot of it. It is beneficial because it gives me an understanding of which type of film i am going to make and helps me when writing the proposal.
